Unclogging the Mind: Let Truth Prevail

The process of unclogging the mind requires cleansing. For example, overwhelming emotions can slip into one’s mind, soul and spirit without noticing.

We all have probably heard the famous quote by Pierre Teilhard de Chardin that says, ‘we are spiritual beings having a human experience’. However, we often fail to differentiate between the blurred lines of the two opposing identities. Our soul always inhabits everything that our minds accept as true.

Our minds can be conditioned to accept something that we considered to be absurd or unacceptable. When our minds finally accept something, whatever we allow lives within our souls. The discomfort manifest when what we have accepted is contrary to the word of God.

Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. John 17:17

The majority of our discomfort is because what we allow, might not align with what God desires. The conflict can show up through mental breakdowns or spiritual misalignment. Mental acceptance can often result in tangible actions that have real consequences. For example, someone might have been brought up to believe that stealing is wrong. But later in life, a person might feel that they are justified to steal because of poverty, injustice, or unemployment. The consequences of that action, if and when the person is caught could be a prison sentence, community service, a fine, or death in some instances.

As a result of what we accept we are susceptible to dire consequences. Eventually, ideology can be subtly introduced as something that becomes normal to us. Ideology is taught to us without the consideration of being spiritual beings that are separate from the human experience. Yet, human beings are conditioned to behave a certain way morally, even if a certain ideology is the result of unwarranted behavior or consequences.

Wrong and right cannot be equated to ideology, because of the ability to control our actions and the inability to control events that are beyond our control. Our free will can go against the desires of God, intentionally or unintentionally. Sometimes it could be through unfortunate events of mental oblivion, pain, or mental illness.

It’s not easy to unlearn wrong ideologies by our own strength. Therefore, trusting in God is the only way we get to understand and negate our biases. Filtering what we accept shouldn’t be based on emotional impact or feeling. But, it should solely come from the word of God. A human fallacy can lead one astray. For example, a community that agrees with the ‘majority rule’ can be influenced through propaganda or socialism. Therefore, it’s crucial to regard what you believe in conjunction with what the word of God says. God’s word is the only truth that will exist and always remains. Everything that’s not according to the truth of God will create pain, confusion, and discomfort in the world.
